These files reflect many of the functions and activities of the Corporation and cover the sale and export of meat and by-products; the inspection of meat and of abattoirs; the issue of slaughter licenses; the Officers' Endowment Fund (the first of its kind in New South Wales); relationship with the Royal Agricultural Society, and the construction of the Meat Hall at the Showground; the prosecution of offenders against aspects of legislation administered by the Corporation; military occupation of land at Homebush; matters relating to the Council of Public Abattoir Authorities; and, a representative sample of files relating to licensing matters. The Corporation's files have been culled and only those files relating to more important matters retained.
