The Phillip Garth Law Guide to Records documents and contextualises the records of Phillip Garth Law, an Antarctic explorer. The collection includes papers chronicling his childhood, education, family, interests and remarkable career. This archival collection is unique in terms of its content and breadth particularly in relation to the development of post-war Australian exploration, the Antarctic, scientific pursuit and education. The collection consists of in excess of 1000 inventory items, mostly paper format files, grouped into 21 series. The total collection occupies more than 1500 linear cm of shelf space (or its equivalent). The Guide is the output of a research database. It was originally produced in paper format by the Australian Science Archives Project in 1989. An online version of the Guide, including documentation of more records, was published by the Australian Science and Technology Heritage Centre in August 1999. The records are held by the National Library of Australia. The collection was listed by Helen Morgan with Oscar Manhal, Gavan McCarthy, Ailie Smith and Arlie McCarthy.
