Full description

This series consists of black and white photographs possibly taken soon after the establishment of the Ophthalmic Clinic in 1914. The photographs were possibly taken or commissioned by the Department of Public Health, and may have formed part of a larger project of photographing health services to children as contemporary photographs exist for other health services.

The photographs which appear to be original prints, show children undergoing eye examinations, waiting for examination and observing examination. Some of these images were used in the Report of the Minister for Public Instruction for the Year 1915.

The photographs bear no captions although they are identified by pencil natation on the reverse side.
