This series consists of minutes and meeting papers of the State Emergency Management Committee which was established under the State Emergency and Rescue Management Act, 1989 (Act No. 165, 1989).
The Committee comprises the State Emergency Management Controller and the State Emergency Recovery Controller and representatives of relevant government and non-government agencies determined by the Minister. The function of the Committee is to ensure that New South Wales has a system to cope with emergencies which is robust, effective and flexible enough to deal with the range of hazards experienced in New South Wales. Committee meetings are held approximately every three to six months.
The minutes document attendance of Chairman and members (agency representatives), apologies and items of business. Meeting papers include the agenda and usually supporting papers related to each agenda item.
The loose papers have been placed in document wallets, there is one wallet per meeting.
