This series consists of original documents and photographs received by the Special Commission of Inquiry. Documents relating directly to the accident were obtained from agencies including the State Rail Authority, Police Department, and the Department of Transport. Documents were also received from other New South Wales Government agencies, in addition to unions and interstate Government agencies. Many of the documents were presented due to summons issued by the Special Commission. The Commission of Inquiry also obtained documents relating to rail systems and accidents elsewhere in the world.
