Full description
This volume comprises the quantities, plans, and estimates for the railway and roadway approaches for the Sydney Harbour Bridge.
The volume is divided into the northern and southern approaches, and shows the following details for each: general lay-out, details of quantities, and quantity schedule and estimate. A grand total summary estimate appears at the end of the volume.
The volume is signed by WH Lush, Designing Engineer, and J.J.C. Bradfield, Chief Engineer, Sydney Harbour Bridge.
The estimates give particular attention to the costs of excavation, railway gradings and tunnels, railway stations and road and footway surfacing. All estimates are accompanied by detailed plans
Neither the volume nor the individual plans are dated. In estimating a date for this volume it has been assumed that the costings were complete before the call for tenders for the arch bridge in 1923.
