The Data Driven Discoveries program is a $30.9 million initiative led by Geoscience Australia in collaboration with the Geological Survey of Queensland. The program aims to re-examine decades old seismic data and collect new geoscientific data to identify opportunities for resource discovery in the underexplored Adavale Basin in south-central Queensland. This program supports the Australian Government’s Net Zero Plan by researching opportunities for hydrogen storage and seeks to improve understanding of the basin’s minerals, energy and groundwater potential.
In November 2025, the program successfully completed the Adavale Basin stratigraphic drilling project as part of its final phase of delivery, where the GA Enniskillen 1 borehole reached a total depth of 3,023 metres. Occurring near the town of Blackall, the borehole provided 976 metres of Adavale Basin drill core, rock chips, groundwater samples, and comprehensive geophysical logs.
This document describes the GA Enniskillen 1 drill core HyLogger 3TM dataset and associated deliverables. The data comprise hyperspectral logger spectral mineralogy measurements acquired to characterise drill core mineralogy to support borehole correlation and interpretation. Provided products include the processed data with basic quality control. The dataset is suitable for integration with core and drilling information for formation evaluation, zonation, and subsurface modelling.
