Adjunct Senior Lecturer, Archaeology, School of Humanities, University of New England

Full description

Pam Watson has specialised interests in both the archaeology of Late Antiquity in the Middle East, and in Australian Historical Archaeology. Since 2000 she has been based in Armidale, conducting excavations and surveys at archaeological sites in and around Armidale, and in the wider New England region. This was partly achieved as Post-Doctoral Research Fellow in the Heritage Futures Research Centre at UNE, and partly teaching a training unit for UNE archaeology students, in Archaeological Field Methods.  These projects have documented the less visible material evidence for early European settlement and development in the area, involving a variety of site types from urban industrial/domestic/retail sites to pastoral occupation, sawmilling and mining sites.
