Establishment and Functions

The Board of Examiners for Mine Managers was formally established by provisions made in the Mines Act 1904.

The Board was appointed in July 1905 and proceeded to establish regulations for the granting of several certificates to Mine Managers through a process of examination. Its primary function were to examine applications for, and then grant, Certificates of Competency to Mine Managers.


Location of Records

Only a few records have been transferred to the Public Record Office.
