VPRS 6954 Index to Applications for Certificates of Service or Competency, Mine Managers

This series comprises an index to the the first three volumes within VPRS 22351/C1. The volumes in that consignment are registers of certificates of competency for the following categories of mine managers, Underground Foremen, Battery Managers, Cyanide Works Managers and Chlorination Works Managers. Entries record just the name of the applicant and an application number but do not specify the actual category (and thus the specific register whether VPRS 22351/C1) for which the applicant applied. Entries are made in alphabetical order according the first letter of the applicants' surname.

This series was originally identified, titled and documented by a service provider. An evaluation of the supplied documentation during 2025 resulted in the amendment of the series title from the original 'Index to Managers', attribution of the recording agency to VA 1399 Board of Managers for Mine Managers (in place of the originally documented Department of Mines), establishment of the date range of the index (based on the dating of the relevant registers of applications in VPRS 22351) and the inclusion of this series description.
