This series of paper-based records comprises of subject files maintained by Malcolm Fraser from January 1954, when he began his first (unsuccessful) federal election campaign, to the defeat of the Liberal Coalition Government in December 1972. In this period, Malcolm Fraser was a member of several government members' committees and held the portfolios of army (1966-1968), education and science (1968-1969 and 1971-1972) and defence (1969-1971).
