This dataset contains samples for panicle detection across a wide variety of sorghum phenotypes. A subset of the created sorghum diversity datasets from the experiments in the publication "Diffusion Fields: Robust Sorghum Panicle Counting across Diverse Germplasm and Imaging Conditions" is made available for evaluation. The 2D image dataset of the sorghum diversity trial images collected using Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs) from the sorghum fields located near The University of Queensland, Gatton Campus, Australia (27.54°S, 152.32°E). The trial was sown on the 24th of September 2015 using standard planting densities with plots comprising two rows, spaced at 0.75m apart.
