Full description

SERF is being managed by QUT's Institute for Future Environments (IFE) as a living laboratory for research and educational experiences for its researchers, students and visitors. Bequethed to QUT by Dr Elizabeth Nesta Marks, the Facility has a subtropical climate, typical of South East Queensland, with heavy rainfall and thunderstorms. The stream flow of the South Pine River, as well as rainfall in the Samford Valley, have been routinely measured since 1965. The data was and is collected using a Davis weather monitoring station and software. Live data is available from the weather monitor. Historical data is available at http://www.serf.qut.edu.au/research/dataresources/weather_monitor_textile.jsp . Additional information on Samford weather can be obtained from the Bureau Of Meteorology.
