The collection consists of 1239 inventory items, mostly paper format files, grouped into 67 series. The total collection occupies 1,794 linear cm of shelf space (or its equivalent). The Guide is the output of a research database. It was published online by the Australian Science and Technology Heritage Centre in 2004. An updated version was published online by the eScholarship Research Centre in December 2008. Work on the collection was begun by the Australian Science Archives Project in the mid-1990s. The records are held by the State Library of Victoria (MS 13626).
