Full description

This dataset was generated using Illumina sequencing of RNA extracted from whole blood of patients presenting with sepsis to ICU and ED. The dataset was generated in order to find biomarkers which can distinguish different disease classes (i.e. reasons for febrile illness) including bacterial infection, viral infection and non-infectious sepsis, as well as to find biomarkers which can distinguish severe from less severe disease, as measured by total number of organ dysfunctions. The data sets consists of a discovery and validation cohort.
