This series consists of admission cards concerning patients admitted to the Darlinghurst Reception Centre, and the Newcastle and Orange Reception Houses. The majority of the cards refer to the Darlinghurst Reception Centre.

The information provided on each card includes the name, age, and marital status of the patient; date of admission, and occasionally re-admission; date of discharge and in some cases reason for discharge (death or sent to another institution); the number allocated to each patient as his hospital number; latest address; names and addresses of relatives or friends; whether a returned soldier; and, if a file was created on the patient.
