Record of appropriations made from annual vote under the title "Mental Hospitals Generally". Chronological entries show date of demand, voucher number, particulars (ie. name of claimant, number and amount of abstract), and entries under Mental Hospitals (ie. Callan Park, Gladesville, Parramatta, Kenmore, Rydalmere, Newcastle, Morisset, Stockton, Rabbit Island, Broughton Hall, Orange), Reception House Darlinghurst, Pathological Laboratory, Office of Inspector General, total and balance of appropriation.

Volume 5/116 differs slightly in form - entries are made on a separate page for each institution, whereas in other volumes entries are made across double page and include accounts from all sub-divisions.

Volumes 3/5609-14 record date, voucher number, name of claimant, mental hospital or office, amount appropriated and balances. The appropriations listed cover salaries and payments in nature of salaries; maintenance and working expenses (other than salaries), stores, seeds, Treasurer's Advance account, exchange on remittances, receipts returned and Unemployed Relief Tax.
