Full description

These volumes primarily record observations of weather and sea conditions and of passing shipping traffic, including details of those vessels arriving and leaving Eden harbour. Some of the volumes record details of the lighthouse operation including time of lighting, time of extinguishing, oil consumed, number of cylinders, number of wicks used.

The earliest volume contains more detailed accounts of events in the harbour including pilotage, interactions with ships' captains and building work on the lookout house.
