The subjects of the memoranda concern: distribution of Government Gazettes, revisions of bills to be printed, printing and book-binding estimates, printing requisitions etc.

The registers show: registration number, date of receipt, subject of memoranda, report on memoranda received, remarks (eg. date reply sent, to whom sent).
From 1865 memoranda are included in full, together with, in some cases, copies of replies sent.
