Full description
On 2 April 2020 Regional NSW was established as a Department as a central agency for regional issues that brought together functions from the Department of Planning Industry and Environment. (1) Staff from the Regions, Industry, Agriculture and Resources Group in the Department of Planning, Industry and Environment were transferred to Regional NSW on 2 April 2020. (2)
Regional NSW was renamed as the Department of Regional NSW on 21 December 2021. (3)
On 17 October 2022, the Department of Regional NSW held the following divisions: Commercial, Northern Rivers Reconstruction Corporation; Local Land Services; Mining, Exploration and Geoscience; Office of the Secretary; Regional Delivery; Primary Industries; Regional Development and Programs; Regional Precincts Group, Regional Growth NSW Development Corporation; Strategy, Corporate and Performance. The Department of Regional NSW was renamed as the Department of Primary Industries and Regional Development on 1 July 2024. (5)
