The records comprise completed and sample questionnaires. All questionnaires are anonymous. A sample of 4,165 students was drawn from Year 7 to 11 in twenty-nine schools throughout the State. A two stage cluster sampling method was used, and the methodology for this is explained in both the interim (12/10754.3) and the main report (12/10754.4). The drugs examined in this survey were alcohol, tobacco, analgesics, solvents and aerosols, marijuana, sedatives, hallucinogens, narcotics and stimulants. Because of the large number of drugs covered in the survey, two forms of questionnaire were developed. The first half of each questionnaire consists of a set of core questions common to both forms. These questions concern the level of drug use within these time scales. The other sections of the questionnaire relate to detailed questions about alcohol use, or questions about smoking. In addition, there is a sample questionnaire for students in Years 5 and 6. (12/10727-10754.2). 28 boxes (part). Full description

These are the records of a survey conducted by the NSW Drug and Alcohol Authority in October 1983 relating to drug abuse by school students in New South Wales.

The first half of each questionnaire consists of a set of "core" questions common to both forms. These questions concern the level of drug use within these time scales. The other sections of the questionnaire relate to detailed questions about alcohol use, or questions about smoking. In addition, there is a sample questionnaire for students in Years 5 and 6.

(12/10727-10754.2). 28 boxes (part).
