(3)This series records applications for subdivisions authorised by the Camden Municipal Council. Full description

The Local Government Acts required that if subdivision of land was desired an application accompanied by plans and specifications was to be submitted to Council for approval. The Town clerk certified the subdivision if satisfied that all requirements (other than the registration of plans) had been met.

Following certification, a plan of the subdivision including a statement regarding the title to the land and the Town Clerk’s certificate was registered by the Registrar General. (1) Subdivisions applied normally to sections of 20 acres or more although smaller subdivisions could be sought in some circumstances to regularise a building encroaching upon adjacent land. (2)
