This series comprises records seeking the Premier's approval for a range of administrative and statutory appointments to positions such as trustees of superannuation boards, electricity providers and other state-owned enterprises, local health boards, TAFE district committees, magistrates and judges, food safety boards and a wide range of other government bodies or state-owned enterprises.

The records in this series are for appointments made outside of the usual arrangement which is for appointments to be approved at Cabinet meetings.  During a parliamentary break or when Cabinet does not meet. appointments may be approved by the Premier to facilitate the running of the organisations to which the appointments are made.

Files are arranged by the year or date in which the appointments were made.

Files are labelled 'Administrative Appointments', the year and the volume number within that year (e.g. 06 vol. 1 of 2, 06 vol. 2 of 2).  From 2008 the folders are labelled with an abbreviated date used as a control number in the format day, month, year  (e.g. ddmmyy - 41213 used for 04/12/2013), 241013 used for 24/10/2013) but this is sometimes inaccurately labelled so files should be retrieved using the title information - title and date. The date is usually the date/s a group of appointments was presented for approval.
