The series consists of registers recording admission and discharge details of youths sent to Girls' Training Home, Parramatta.

The registers have a double page format arranged by week with one page recording 'Movements Inward' (admissions) to the facility, and the facing page recording 'Movements Outward' (discharges) in chronological order.

Details recorded for inward admissions include date of admission, name, date of birth, religion, new committals (offences), name of court, transfers from other institutions (named), absconders returned, leave returned, shelter returned, hospital returned, and remand cases. The outward discharge details record date of discharge, name, transfers to other institutions (named), to shelter, absconded, on leave, to hospital, to court (remand), to whom discharged, address, from PC (Personal Care), and period of retention.

Each double page also includes space to record weekly statistics relating to the number of girls housed at the facility.
