Correspondence register books are volumes in which the Council officers entered records of the letters received by the Council from other parties (including other Councils, the NSW government, private persons and organisations). Details of the incoming letters included date received, from, subject and file number. The letters were registered in date received order in the first volume and then in alphabetical order by sender and sometimes subject (e.g. Tenders).
