Full description

This series consists of forms recording movements to and from Brush Farm Home at Eastwood, including absentees, absconders, and those on holiday leave.

Each form covers one week and includes details of the name of the establishment, week ending date, numbers in residence at the beginning and end of each week, total enrolment, capacity, vacancies, signature of the officer in charge, and the date.

The details of the residents are broken down into inward movements on the left half of the form, and outward movements on the right. Inward movements record the name of the resident, date of arrival, and where they came from (e.g. a relative, or another institution), according to whether they were admissions, returning absentees (e.g. for holiday leave), or returning absconders. Outward movements record the name of the resident, date of departure, and where they went to, according to whether they were discharges, absentees or absconders. The total movements inward and outward are also recorded.

In addition to each movement form, a list of all residents is included for each week, arranged by dormitory, either as a separate page or on the back of the form. There is also a list of girls on holiday leave as at 4 January 1970, and a handwritten list of residents divided by age group.
