Some lists also include degrees held, number of years trained, and for specialist teachers their area of expertise.This volume was used by the Status Section of the Teacher Personnel Division. It includes handwritten annotations noting the date that the Public Service Board approved and when the certificate was issued.The Teachers Certificate certified that those appointed to the State's teaching service met the Department of Education's requirements of educational attainments, teaching skill and probationary service. Those awaiting classification were eligible for the Conditional Certificate, which came with a list of requirements to be fulfilled before it would be upgraded to a Teachers Certificate. This volume consists of roneoed and pasted copies of Schedules listing probationary teachers who met the Department of Education's efficiency requirements under Regulation 371 and whose appointment could be confirmed under Section 32 of the Public Service Act, 1902. The Schedules are addressed to the Director-General of Education and the Public Service Board.

Those recommended for Teachers Certificates had either met the required educational standard upon graduation from Teachers College or within their probationary period at Departmental examinations for teachers. Their names appear in the 'C' Schedules. Those recommended for Conditional Certificates had graduated from Departmental Teachers Colleges with Conditional Certificate attainments. Their names appear in the 'CC' Schedules.
