The Schedules provide the teacher's name, serial number, date of entry on duty, standard of efficiency achieved during the past three years, and date of award of Teachers Certificate or Conditional Certificate. Some lists also include degrees held, number of years trained, and for specialist teachers their area of expertise.

The Teachers Certificate certified that those appointed to the State's teaching service met the Department of Education's requirements of educational attainments, teaching skill and probationary service. Those awaiting classification were eligible for the Conditional Certificate, which came with a list of requirements to be fulfilled before it would be upgraded to a Teachers Certificate. The Teachers Certificate system began in 1944.
