General description of the records in the series: Correspondence files reflecting the variety of activities undertaken by the Independent Transport Safety and Reliability Regulator. The files contain documentation relating to the following subjects: accreditation of rail transport operators; investigations into and monitoring of recommendations from major rail incidents; Commonwealth/State and interdepartmental committees and conferences in which the organisation was involved; safety education campaigns for transport operators; publications of transport safety and reliability research; as well as drafting of transport safety legislation.
