This series chiefly comprises films commissioned by the Board to illustrate its work in managing and operating the abattoir, saleyards and associated facilities at Homebush. The films were produced by Australian Instructional Films Pty Ltd for the Metropolitan Meat Industry Board. They appear to have been directed mainly at primary producers (especially cattle and sheep graziers) but some were aimed at a wider audience (school children / the general public). A Japanese version of one film ('Careful, that's my carcase') was also produced, possibly to assist with the promotion of meat exports.
