The Cabinet Office files (TCO files) are correspondence files maintained by the Cabinet Secretariat. The files relate to matters for consideration by Cabinet and cover a diverse range of matters including minutes, policies, committees, correspondence, strategies, reviews, submissions, inquiries, annual reports and contracts. The files also include correspondence with committees and departments in relation to the preparation of legislation and contain second reading speeches.
The majority of files contain ‘correspondence action schedules’ within the file which indicate what further action is required.
The file covers are all headed with ‘The Cabinet Office’ and the NSW coat of arms. The file title appears on the file cover and are thesaurus-based and are hierarchical in their structure.
The file number appears on the cover and the spine of the file. They have a prefix of TCO followed by a single number and part number.
