Full description

This series contains records establishing the legal and administrative boundaries of national parks, historic sites and reserves for the purpose of drafting the National Parks Act 1967 (Act No.35, 1967).

The records consist of Department of Lands papers that have been held by National Parks and Wildlife and arranged in alphabetical order according to the park or site to which they relate. There is a folder for each park or historic site and within each folder are papers describing the parcel of land and information on the status of the land, including the particulars of all reservations, dedications, proclamations and Crown grants affecting the land. The descriptions of land parcels are signed off by the Officer in Charge of the General Drafting Branch and the Officer in Charge of Bills and Regulations.

Each park or site folder also contains a map or diagram of the area proposed. In addition some of the folders contain copies of Government Gazettes containing information pertaining to the official proclamation of a particular park or site.

The folder containing papers regarding the Hill End Historic site contains a Lands Department Conditional Sales document. The folder containing papers relating to Heathcote State Park contains aerial photographs dating from the 1970s showing the boundaries of the park.
