This series consist of records relating to the Homebush Abattoir and Metropolitan Meat Board that came into the custody of the Sydney Olympic Park Authority (SOPA) when they took over the area previously used as Homebush Abattoir to develop Sydney Olympic Park.

The series includes a variety of records including, employment files, employee registration and leave cards, housing fund records that record the rent paid by abattoir employees, WWII military leave records, a rent register which records the rent of paddocks and office space owned by the Abattoir and correspondence relating to land sales. In addition to this, the series also includes a selection of films relating to the meat industry some of which were produced by the Metropolitan Meat Board and filmed at Homebush Bay.
