This cumulative Index is the key to the resolutions of the post-amalgamation Council of the University of Newcastle (including the Interim Council, 1989-1990). It consists of successive chronological instalments, each of which is internally organised alphabetically by resolution subject. Attached to each instalment is a copy of the text of all resolutions for the period covered by that instalment. The first instalment of the Index covered the years 1989-1994; subsequent instalments were produced annually, in such a way that an interim index was issued after each Council meeting, covering the resolutions passed from the first meeting of the year until the most recent, until after the final meeting for the year, when that year's Index was complete. Copies of both the interim instalments and the annual Indices are held.
