Full description

This series consists of minutes and agenda papers for the meetings of the Legislation Committee of the Riverina College of Advanced Education (RCAE). The main function of the committee was to formulate rules, by-laws and regulations for the College.

The minutes and agendas (which also included any relevant attachments for the meetings) are all typed and arranged in chronological order. For each meeting the minutes are first, followed by the agenda and any papers or attachments.

The minutes, which have been signed by the chairperson at each meeting, document the decisions and resolutions made by the Legislation Committee. The following information is contained in the minutes: the date, place and time of the meeting; those people present at the meeting; apologies from people not able to attend; information and resolutions referred to the Committee from the Interim Council; resolutions passed by the Legislation Committee itself; any correspondence tabled at the meeting; any general business arising; and the date, place and time of the next meeting.

The agendas outlined the format that the meetings followed and the matters that were to be addressed. This includes the attachments which gave members attending the meeting extra information pertaining to the topics for discussion on the agenda. Both the agendas and attachments were circulated prior to the meetings.
