This Minute Book consists of typescript (sometimes stencilled) copies of the Minutes of successive meetings of the Infection Control Committee, pasted into a large-format ruled volume with cardboard covers. It is the master copy, with the Minutes of each meeting signed by the Chairman in confirmation that they had been accepted at the subsequent meeting as a true record. The Committee was composed of representatives of all divisions of the Hospital.

The minutes record discussions on issues of sanitation, hygiene and antiseptic precautions, particularly with regard to the handling of potentially infectious materials, and any resulting decisions on matters of policy or procedures. This volume covers the whole period of the Committee's existence.
