Legal counsel of the Royal Commission created this series for the purposes of evidence.

The series discusses the possibility of crop surveillance and illicit crop detection utilising remote sensing technologies. Comparisons are made between various methods of gathering intelligence including aerial photography, radar scanning, x-ray scanning, thermal infrared scanning and digital multi-spectral satellite imagery. Particular emphasis is placed upon imagery obtained from the "Landsat" earth resources satellite.

The volume contains transcripts of "In Camera" and other interviews, correspondence, handwritten notes, copies of scientific papers, journal articles, and specifications from aerospace companies.

This series was originally part of the series known as NRS-1629 "Miscellaneous Records".
