These returns, which are copies of the returns forwarded to the Child Welfare Department, are primarily lists of inmates in the following categories: (a) inmates sentenced to isolated detention; (b) new arrivals; (c) inmates remanded; (d) mental hospital patients; (e) absconders and absentees from "Myee"; (f) girls discharged. In some cases, handwritten reports on the general health, general conduct and recreational activities of the inmates are included.
