This record resulted from the Cinematograph Films (Australian Quota) Act of 1935.

The register notes running registration number; date of registration; title of film; name and address of person, film or company in whose name the film was registered; name and address of producer; whether registered as Australian, British or Foreign; length of film in linear feet; and, certificate number under Commonwealth Customs (Film Censorship) Regulations.

Associated with the register are cards kept in alphabetical sequences by name of film (NRS 1315) which serve as an index to it.
