In addition to the names of chemists and druggists licensed to sell poisons from 1897 the names of pharmacists are also included. Details of chemists registered under the previous Act have also been written in.

Entries in the register are arranged alphabetically by surname, and from c.1897 within each letter by the date of registration. Each entry records the number of the certificate, date of registration, name, residence and qualifications. Where appropriate, change of address or decease are noted.
