The jobs include construction work (e.g. bath house, butcher’s shop), repairs and alterations, provisions, sanitary, mess canteen and store. Under each job the following information may be provided: employment (the type of employee, e.g. carpenter, plumber, driver, labourer); number of men; hours per employee type; and total hours per employment type. Full description

This series comprises books of ganger’s daily work sheets, which are perforated forms designed for cost keeping in construction works. These volumes, used by the Rothbury Colliery during its operation by the State, were originally printed for the Department of Public Works. Each of the four volumes is associated with a particular ganger whose name appears on the cover: Nicholson, Rawson, Turnbull and QM (Quartermaster).
