This is an accounts book for canteen expenses incurred by free labourers employed by the Rothbury Colliery during its operation by the State.
The transactions are grouped by employee and record the following information: date, description of transaction (goods purchased or cash deductions from pay) and the amounts debited and credited.
There is an index of employees in the front of the volume.
