Full description

The photographic album contains 57 13 x 21 cm  black and white images. The images are of pit-tops and loading and transport facilities of northern New South Wales coal mines. These mines are predominately around Newcastle.

Most of the images are dated and cover the period 1885-95. Some of these also contain the initials RS. The initials are those of Ralph Snowball a commercial photographer. These photographs were either bought or commissioned by the Department of Mines or the Department of Mines and Agriculture.
