Full description

This dataset contains micro-computed tomography (micro-CT) scans of the heads of five specimens of short-beaked echidna (Tachyglossus aculeatus) at five different growth stages. These data are used in the accompanying research paper to investigate changes to the morphology of the jaw and middle ear throughout early ontogeny and how that relates to the separation of the middle ear in mammalian evolution.
