Full description

The project provided support to NACRA in terms of field trial design, data collection, and data analysis and interpretation for three seasons of maize trials in the Ord River Irrigation Area in Western Australia. The trials aimed to investigate the impacts of contrasting nitrogen fertiliser rates, application methods, timings, and products, on maize productivity. In addition, the effects of maize time of sowing and irrigation scheduling were also investigated. The trials included research station and on-farm trials. The trial data, e.g., soil mineral nitrogen levels, maize biomass production and yield, and tissue nitrogen content, was generated by NACRA (please contact NACRA for access to these data sets). However, the project generated its own data by calculating derived variables, for example calculating partial nitrogen budgets. These derived variables are provided in this dataset.
