Time-series data are preserved in their original acquisition format and retain the sampling characteristics, channel configurations, and recording durations obtained during field operations. Full description

This dataset contains raw broadband magnetotelluric (MT) time-series data acquired during the Tumby Bay MT survey conducted across the lower Eyre Peninsula, South Australia, in 2018 and 2019. The dataset comprises unprocessed recordings of orthogonal electric-field (Ex, Ey) and magnetic-field (Bx, By) components collected at all survey deployments, including repeat site occupations and the continuously recording remote-reference station. Time-series data are preserved in their original acquisition format and retain the sampling characteristics, channel configurations, and recording durations obtained during field operations. No signal processing, filtering, editing, or frequency-domain transformation has been applied beyond file collation and packaging for archival preservation. These data constitute the primary observational record of the Tumby Bay MT survey and provide the source data from which all subsequent processed and derived MT products are generated.

Lineage

This dataset contains raw broadband magnetotelluric (MT) time-series data derived directly from field acquisition activities undertaken during the Tumby Bay MT survey conducted across the lower Eyre Peninsula, South Australia, in 2018 and 2019. Data are preserved in the original native binary format generated by LEMI-423 broadband MT data loggers and represent unprocessed field measurements collected at all primary, repeat, and remote-reference site deployments associated with the survey. The dataset includes deployment metadata recorded during field operations, including station identifiers, geographic coordinates, deployment and recovery dates, and associated field observations where available. The dataset has not undergone signal processing, filtering, resampling, calibration, or transformation beyond file collation and packaging for archival preservation. Persistent identifiers and associated hardware provenance records for individual instruments are maintained separately and may be used to resolve instrument-specific deployment information and equipment provenance. This dataset constitutes the authoritative raw time series archive of field-acquired observations from the Tumby Bay MT survey and forms the basis for all subsequent processed, interpreted, and derived data products.
