Full description
William Hobbs was the overseer at Henry Dangar's Myall Creek Station. On 9 July 1838 he wrote to the Police Magistrate at Invermein reporting on the massacre of Aboriginal people at the station during June 1838.
This letter appears to be the only extant letter received by the Invermein Police Magistrate.
Custody History
This letter is an archival estray; located early in 1988 as part of the Australian Bicentennial Authority's Historic Records Search, and returned to official custody at State Records later that year.
