Brief description

The first fleet and early setttlement collection is a digitised suite of first-hand accounts, diaries and letters written by men and women who emigrated to Australia in the first fleet, and in the early period of settlement in New South Wales.  The first fleet and early settlement collection and supporting website is the outcome of a joint project between the University of Sydney Library and the State Library of New South Wales.
