Full description

This service provides Estimates of Geological and Geophysical Surfaces (EGGS). The data comes from cover thickness models based on magnetic, airborne electromagnetic and borehole measurements of the depth of stratigraphic and chronostratigraphic surfaces and boundaries.

Lineage

Statement: The web service was originally released in January 2019 with point data acquired from boreholes, airborne electromagnetic and magnetic surveys which has been modelled and compiled into a relational database under the SUBSURFACE schema. Cover thickness interpolated surface grids for the North Australian Craton were added in July 2021. Gridded data comprising the Geognostics OZ SEEBASE depth‐to‐economic basement model of Australia and ancillary datasets were added in March 2022.
