Bonnie Bonville Provisional School, in county Raleigh, operated was established in August 1924. Provisional Schools were opened in areas where the school population was insufficient to support a full public school. Parents often met most of the cost of buildings while the Department of Education paid the teacher and supplied books and equipment. By 1924 ten pupils were required to form a provisional school. In January 1928 the Bonnie Bonville was converted into a Public School. The following month the School was renamed Sawtell Public School. Public Schools are basic elementary schools in the New South Wales education system. In 1928 twenty children were required to establish a Public School; and from 1957 when Provisional Schools were converted to Public Schools, the minimum figure was reduced to nine. In 2004 Sawtell Public School was currently located at Eleventh Avenue, Sawtell, in the district of North Coast (1). NOTES
