Full description Camera trap data package from the Wildlife Observatory of Australia's Wildlife Camera Database. Dataset ID: QLD_Kgari_potoroos_Amir_2022_WildObsID_0003. This camera trap survey was carried out to examine the impact of the 2020 Duling Bushfire on long-nosed potoroo (Potorous tridactylus) occupancy across various habitats. This was acheived by sampling areas that were burnt and areas that were not burned, and was stratefied across heath, open woodland, and possibly more habitats. To account for the ever-present dingoes on the island, a paired road-bush camera deployment was used, where one cam was placed on a linear feature, and the other was placed at least 50 m off track. Several cameras were stolen and/or malfuncitoned. This was also a bit of a trust-building exercise between UQ and QPWS to enable more long-term cam trap monitoring as part of UQ's field ecology studies course.
